This is Pastor Privileged Monthly, where you get an insider’s end-of-the-month view of what it takes to be a Pentecostal pastor theologian.

In this edition:

For FREE subscribers:

  • Let me be your doctor! 👨‍⚕️

  • Northern Seminary Announcement

  • Sneak peak for TCK EXPOSÉ 👀

For PAID subscribers

  • The Challenge of Immigrant Churches

  • How to talk about American citizenship after 250 years

  • Office hours

First: three quick things for the FREE subscribers:

1. Let me be your doctor:

In June, I had TWELVE one-on-ones with pastors, missionaries, aspiring theology students, and budding scholars. That’s almost three per week.

Does the number twelve mean I’m walking in Jesus’s footsteps 😏? Maybe a little bit.

I gave life advice, resourced both academically and professionally, made network connections, and—above all else—got some new friends.

👉 I can help you with next steps professionally, educationally, ecclesiastically, and personally.

PAID subscribers get office hours, and that’s where I can help you. So become a paid subscriber 😇

Pastoral Theology is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

For those who already are, the LINK for scheduling a time to talk is below paywall 🤓

2. Northern Seminary Announcement

I’ve officially entered into a partnership with Northern Seminary to oversee and teach a brand-new Certificate in Pentecostal Ministry.

More details are coming, but here’s what you need to know right now:

  • It’ll be a one year program, and will give students advanced standing toward a master’s degree.

  • It'll meet educational requirements for credentialing in the Assemblies of God.

  • It’s gonna be hecka affordable 💸

STAY TUNED

3. New Podcast dropping later this Summer on Slow Burn Christianity

Ever wonder what it’s like to grow up as a white missionary kid under a dictatorship in the global south and get guns pointed at you all the time only to see miracle after miracle? Boy, do I have something for you.

👉I’ve teamed up with Jaclyn Susa Harnish for a limited-series podcast called TCK EXPOSÉ.

“TCK” stands for “Third Culture Kid,” which is another way of saying “missionary kid.”
